Lenovo Y700, Comparison, Pricing and Performance and why the Y700 is better than Competition (thoughts)

Being a gaming enthusiast I have always been fascinated on how the Y700 manages to give a wonderful mobile gaming experience at an excellent price to performance ratio, with a gorgeous looking body and a sturdy feeling in the hand. Ever since lenovo introduced the Y series it has left me nothing short to amazed. The Y series is a very potential machine, it can be used for both office work and then be turned to beast mode where it takes off like a rocket, thanks to the latest Corei7 skylake, 16gb’s DDR4 ram and its excellent Nvidia 960M GPU

Available Y700 configurations:

The Y700 comes in 3 Sizes 14inch, 15inch and 17inch, I personally prefer a 17inch to get that big real estate feeling plus bigger palmrest and better heat anticipation.

Lenovo has Catered to every gamers needs which makes them the worlds number 1 pc manufacturerCapture As lenovo says, Solid gaming laptops, well definitely, the Y700 is pure sexiness and a purring cat when it isnt pushed, but when you push it, the hidden leopard awakens and goes everywhere without breaking a sweat. According to PCMark 7 the  Y700 blasts the better more expensive equipped Acer Predator 15  and well ahead of the similarly equipped Acer Aspire V Nitro.

The Y700 is currently a future proof device with upto 32gb DDR4 support an M.2 Slot for an SSD, but unfortunately does not come with a DVD drive, though lenovo does provide an optional USB external DVD drive if required.

Cooling is our number 1 problem with mobile gaming setups and our massive thurst for more fps and higher in game settings, but nothing to worry about, lenovo has you covered there with dual fans and a huge vent, the fans ramp all the way up, but do not whine or irritate you while you are in game

Ports:

The Y700 has enough ports to satisfy your mobile gaming needs. On the right, there are two USB 3.0 ports, a full HDMI port, an expanding Gigabit Ethernet port, the left sits a USB 2.0 port, a 4-in-1 card reader, a combination headphone/microphone jack and Lenovo’s proprietary DC adapter port.

Competiton

Acer Predator 15

Capture

Acer seems to have chosen the same color scheme as the Y700, has the exact same specs as the Y700 but with a 980M instead of a 960M, but it comes at a price which is 2 times the price of a y700,  Acers are also known for major hinge failures and overheating issues, which makes this an unreliable choice and a waste of money in my eyes

EUROCOM Sky DLX7

Capture

Eurocom tried changing the game by using a K series instead of a normal notebook cpu, a good approach but thermals will be a major issue here, Both Cinebench and PC mark prove that the Y700 blasts K series in a laptop out of the competition and whats worse ? its priced 3 times the price of a y700

Lenovo has played it smart in pricing, performance, and dynamics with the Y700 which is a Kudos to them

Other OEMs, Lenovo is smart, be like lenovo
